Coping with painful diseases like arthritis

Arthritis is considered to be one of the most painful inflammatory diseases which are affecting more than 40 million people in the US alone. There are many kinds of arthritis and figuring out which one is which is not easy, however the common symptoms of arthritis are swelling around the joints, stiffness especially in the mornings, and all kinds of joint pains.
It has been considered that joint pains are only for the elder generation, however, arthritis can affect anyone at almost any age and therefore, it is very important to understand the symptoms and to seek proper medical advice for these conditions.
There are many kinds of arthritis, however one of the most common one is called rheumatoid arthritis. Its cause is unknown and there is very little evidence to refer the disease to a specific cause, however, infections, fungi and bacteria could be the most common causes. Other researches have also mentioned that this could be a hereditary problem and people with family history of rheumatoid arthritis can be highly prone to getting the disease themselves.
Rheumatoid arthritis presents itself in the form of swollen joints, and other symptoms will include muscle pains, redness on the joints, fatigue and sometimes fever and loss of appetite may be seen on the patient.
Osteoarthritis is also very common. In this case the arthritis tends to attack the cartilage of the joint directly and it is seen to affect only one joint at a time. Osteoarthritis normally affects the knees, hips, hands and spine. However, the biggest concern with arthritis is that once the symptoms start to give you problems, it is because the disease has already advanced to a stage where there is too much damage already done to the joint.
Some people need to take some very strong pain killers to cope with the pains of arthritis and therefore it is extremely recommended to consult your doctor, get a proper diagnosis of the actual problem and to see all the possibilities available, which may include surgery, to alleviate the problem in the proper manner.
Taking care of your weight and diet do also play a very important role in making sure that you can handle the initial stages and it may help prevention to certain stage as well.
