About Progressive Multiple Sclerosis

multiple sclerosis demyelinization 300x249 About Progressive Multiple Sclerosis

No matter how much research you do on a specific subject, there is nothing that really makes you ready for the actual experience. This is what happened to me with my Multiple sclerosis problem. I had written a previous article on the subject, however, at that time I did not know anything about how progressive Multiple sclerosis actually worked.

I went from using a cane to walk with to a scooter and my partner was happy that I was taking care of myself properly. With a scooter I was more comfortable and had less falls. However, after sometime, the disease seemed to go away and I got rid of the scooter and suddenly now again I have taken a new one because the symptoms of multiple sclerosis have come back on the other side of the body.

Accepting a disease like multiple sclerosis as a permanent feature in your life is a real challenge. You are living a normal life, having a business and running back and forth thinking of a thousand different things and all of a sudden these things don’t seem to exist anymore and all you have is a life on a wheelchair.

Of course, there are many factors that I have to learn to live with. And perhaps the most painful one is to have to depend on others for personal and trivial issues like disposables. Making sure that the caregiver is taking care of them properly and that they are not lying around can be a very difficult situation when all you can do is sit around and do nothing.

Of course, you are always hoping for the best. You are always chasing those latest studies and drugs that are coming out that tell you that maybe you will get better soon. There are some alternatives that people do try and that have got them some kind of relieve. However, I have tried them and they don’t work for me.

Perhaps my only medicine could be faith. And that is what I am doing now. Hoping that there is a cure out there for multiple sclerosis that will come to me eventually and I shall be free from the wheel chair for good.

If you are interested in the subject of Multiple sclerosis because of your own problems or because you know of someone closer to you then it is very important to try and understand the facts and the problems that we face. The least that you can do is pray for us, and we will pray that you don’t have to experience something as painful as multiple sclerosis.

Accepting the challenges that life gives us is also part of life and keeping your mind occupied in useful endeavors will help you and your family cope with these problems better.
