Legal or Illegal Marijuana – what is better?

marijuana 300x115 Legal or Illegal Marijuana – what is better?

Marijuana is illegal in the United States since the 1930’s when William Randolph decided to testify against the usage of this drug considering it to be very dangerous for the society in general. At that time, it became official that smoking marijuana was illegal, however, this did not stop people from smoking marijuana and the trend is very strong to this day. The reasons behind these statements by the paper industry can be considered to be contradictory and there are those that believe that this was done only to allow those in the industry to utilize their resources in better ways.

Hemp can be used to create paper, however, because it has been considered illegal, it is not being used and instead there is a mass destruction of trees on regular basis that does not help the environment in any way. During the World War II for example, hemp was used to make parachutes and ropes of all kinds.

However, we have to take into consideration that marijuana is not just an herb to take you to special heights. This plant can help people with Alzheimer’s disease by slowing down its process and it has been also seen to minimize the pressure on the eyes of patients suffering from glaucoma. The drug relieves migraine headaches and the side effects of chemotherapy.

Unfortunately it seems that the health of the people is not the real concern of the government of a country and what most important is name and fame and wealth. Therefore, the day that a government will understand that marijuana is a good source of wealth; they will make it legal all over the world.

However, until this can be proved, the people will not want their money to go out of the country in a vast manner and destroy their economy in any way. It is all a matter of time before drugs like marijuana become legal in places like the US, as the awareness of their benefits may become more important and they can find ways of creating a revenue out of it at the same time. Banning something can have adverse effects and the younger generations may eventually break these barriers because you have told them they can’t have it in the first place. This is all part of human nature.
