Hepatitis is a condition where the liver gets affected due to infection and inflammation causing the cells of the organ to malfunction, thus creating many health and digestive problems in the process. There are many kinds of hepatitis in accordance to the way how the disease is affecting the patient and the symptoms in general are fever, enlarged liver and abdominal pain. However, not all the types of hepatitis give the same symptoms and they also vary from person to person.
Viral infections are the most common causes of hepatitis. This disease has been classified in 7 forms and they follow the alphabet from A to G. the most common as easy to treat being hepatitis A. This kind of hepatitis is usually transmitted by contaminated food, however, since it is a very temporary virus, it normally does not reach a stage where you really have to many problems with the symptoms and the body is capable of handling the situation promptly.
The best way to prevent hepatitis A is to get a vaccination and this can be done at the earliest stages of a person’s life. However, this can also be done at any time, if for some reason you were not given this vaccine when you were a child.
Hepatitis B is the second infection on the list that is normally acquired from blood transfusion, or from infected syringes, from tattoos, or it can be sexually transmitter and even you can get this kind of disease directly from your mother at the time of birth. This type of hepatitis can be acute and you should definitely have the proper vaccinations done for this type of hepatitis as some people’s bodies are unable to cope with the requirements of these diseases and they can turn chronic and create havoc in your system.
