There are two basic stages of the disease, and one comes between the age of 16 and 35 years and the other will come in the early 50’s.

Other symptoms that accompany Lymphoma include weight loss and fatigue, skin conditions like itchiness and fevers, and night sweats. However, these are very common symptoms of many diseases and it is very difficult to relate them to Lymphoma or Hodgkin’s disease unless you do a biopsy or a blood test to determine the lumps and where are they situated in the body.

Being aware of the symptoms related to cancer

cancer1 Being aware of the symptoms related to cancer

Our bodies are formed of thousands of cells or very small organisms that create each and every part of the whole complex system. Normally, cells grow up to certain point and then they stop growing and eventually die, once new cells have been formed to create a balanced growth. However cancer cells are those that keep on multiplying and that are not really good for our system. They don’t help growth and in the opposite they are destroyer cells.

The cancer cells unite together to form tumors and they keep on feeding themselves on the healthy cells and destroy all that they can get hold of. Once the tumor has reached certain growth then you will start to develop symptoms of cancer and you will start to feel very sick indeed.

The cancer cells once active can travel to other parts of the body and start work on making tumors in those parts as well. This type of cancer is called metastasis. The best way to prevent cancer cells from spreading and from causing lots of trouble in the body is early detection of the disease.

It is therefore very important to keep a track of the symptoms related to cancer which include a lump in your breast or your testicles, a wart that seems to pain or get itchy for no reason, sore throat for a long period of time, changes in bowel movement and coughing blood. You can also develop unusual bleeding, or vaginal discharge. Fatigue will always accompany these symptoms.

There are many diseases that are not as complicated as cancer which present themselves with similar symptoms, however, it is always better to try to be on the safe side and contacting your doctor is never a bad idea.

Cancer is not a contagious disease and it is not something that you can catch like flu. However, unfortunately there is no concrete research now into the actual causes of this disease. The reasons vary very much from person to person and all you really need to take into consideration is to try and have a healthy lifestyle to avoid any complications.

breast cancer 300x164 Breast Cancer – Ways to handle the situation

It is very important to come up with a contingency plan to be able to handle the situation in a very mature and positive way. There are a few things that can be taken into consideration to make this stage less painful and to change it towards a very positive outcome.

First, understand what is happening to your body at present. It is not bad to do research and understand how cancer works on your system. In fact it is good to allow the mind to accept the challenge that it has, to make sure you can reverse the whole process. The ways of reversal can be discussed and thought in accordance with what is required, however once you are aware of the disease itself cancer will not seem such a big thing and you will be able to deal with the trauma involved for your own benefit.

Of course, you should always have plenty of faith. Faith in your own believes and faith in your own self and have room for miracles as well. They do happen if we believe on them. By having faith in yourself you are allowing a stronger part of you to take charge of what is really good for you and what does not really call your attention. It is very important to follow your intuition and your body in these situations; however, empowerment of yourself is also as important as it is this power which will take the right turns. If you are not sure or if you are too confused, you will not be able to decide.

Other thing you can do is to have your loved ones near to you. If this is not physically possible, then try to always have a friend nearby with whom you can share your experiences and feelings openly. Being open about your natural reactions to the facts of life can help you deal with them in a more positive way. You have to surrender yourself to the positive aspects as they will be part of the healing process.

Make sure that you diet and nutrition is up to the mark. Your system may require extra support and fewer fats or other elements which may act against this balance. Your body needs to be fit and strong, and you should include good cooking oils in your diet and good sources of protein. Homemade wines are also considered good for people suffering from breast cancers and there is no harm in trying them out and checking the difference that they make to your system.

There are some very good natural herbs which boost the immune system and help breast cancer patients restore their energy levels. Cancer acts like an energy eating giant and the system has to go into a battle to be able to get rid of it. It is therefore very good to take natural infusions of herbs like red clover or burdock root or violet leaf infusions.  Seaweeds and medicinal mushrooms are also very good for giving you the required energy.

Practice yoga and or tai chi regularly.  Get a massage done on regular basis. You need to look after yourself and that is the only thing that matters at this point of time. Of course, the regular medications prescribed by your doctor will also need to be taken side by side; however, these small yet powerful things can create a difference in the way you get your treatment for breast cancer.

Making sense of an abnormal Mammogram

Taking care of your health and making sure you are healthy and your body is functioning the way it should be is very important at all times. You should not wait till you are not feeling well or when you are having some kind of symptom which does not seem natural before you get yourself checked up on time. Of course, you doctor is the best guide when it comes to making sure you have taken all the necessary tests in accordance with your age and health history.

One of the most common tests that you are asked to perform is a mammogram. After the age of 40 a woman should get a breast mammogram done to make sure her breasts are healthy and they have not developed any unusual lumps. If for some reason a lump is found during your check up then the next step to be followed will be to make sure the lump is harmless and that it does not have any cancer cells on it. Your doctor will see to it that you get the proper biopsy done to rule out any danger at the earliest. The sooner you are able to have the results, the better for you and your peace of mind.

There are different methods of having a biopsy done and one of them is with the help of a syringe. The process is not very painful and it is like taking an injection. The syringe will collect fluids from the lump and then they will be tasted for their characteristics. The process is very simple and the results will come back to you in about two or three days. There is another form of biopsy where the needle utilized is thicker, as the lump may be of a regular size and there are doubts that the smaller needle may not give the proper results. This method is a bit more painful than the first one; however, the results are more or less same as before.

You can also have a biopsy done where the needle is not guided by touch, but by sight. It is done through laparoscopy and sometimes this procedure is done on very small lumps that may not be easily found otherwise. The procedure is called Stereotactic needle biopsy. Lastly, if your doctor has decided that the lump found in your breasts should be removed whether it is malignant or not, then you will be asked to undergo a biopsy surgery where you will be operated by a surgeon to remove the whole lump and then of course, that lump will also be sent for analysis.

Understanding your state of health, the possibilities available and the meaning of the procedures will always help you become stronger and have more patience before you jump into any kind of conclusions about the possible results. Knowing that finding a lump on your breasts through a mammogram does not necessarily mean breast cancer and understanding why you are being given different options to the procedures involved is very important and it makes things less scary.
