This is a transition into maturity which should be cherished and appreciated in the same manner that all other aspects of life have been done before. There are people who go into the next stage of their life’s with lots of regrets about what they have done or what they have not been able to do, and also it is a time in their lives when they are not looking for a future for themselves as they feel that that does not exist anymore and they are only remembering their past deeds and what they could have done differently.

Rather than feeling sorrow for ourselves and for the things we are not going to be able to do anymore, it is better to concentrate on what we have done in the past one year prior to our 50th birthday. A friend of mine for example was able to write her first book during that year and had finally got a wonderful house by the beach she had dreamed of for so long, she had seen her first granddaughter and was very happy with her relationship with the rest of her family.
