Current health events regarding vitamins

vitamins 300x193 Current health events regarding vitamins

There are many teenagers in the US and other parts of the world who take vitamins and minerals, however that don’t really need to do so due to their appropriate nutritional intake and current health events reveal that those children or teenagers that really need to take these supplements cannot afford them due to the costs involved in the process.

Middle class children and teenagers are already been feed properly and they do not really need extra vitamins to have a balanced health and growth. However, children in the lower income line may not be able to get the appropriate amount of nutrition they require and at the same time they are unable to afford taking extra supplements.

The American Academy of Pediatrics does not recommend for children or teenagers to have vitamins on regular basis, however current health events have revealed that about a third of children in the US take vitamins daily.

The only exception has been given to Vitamin D. It is considered that most children don’t get enough of vitamin D in their diets. Vitamin D is present in milk, eggs, and fish however, the amounts required for the proper health of your child or teenager is not enough and you need to supplement them.

However, the main problem that current health events are now finding and emphasizing is the side effects that you can get from extra supplements. The effects can range from vomiting to more serious problems like damage to the kidneys. There are some fat soluble vitamins also that can create problems slowly and you won’t even understand as to where these problems are coming from in the first place.

However, the implementation of Vitamin D in your child’s diet can be very important for his growth as vitamin D is very important for calcium absorption. During the growth periods of your child, calcium plays and very important role in the creation of healthy bones, however without the proper amounts of vitamin D, it is very difficult for calcium to be properly absorbed into the body.

There are also recommendations for supplementation of calcium, however current health events have not give a clear stand on what could be the side effects that extra calcium can have in the body of the growing child.

Why is vitamin D and calcium so important to the child’s growth now? The current health events reveal that lack of calcium in the diet can create poor growth, muscle pain and weakness in children. This is especially true for children who have been breast feed since the mother’s milk, although it is considered to be the best for your child, does not contain the right amount of calcium that your child requires.

Trying to have a balanced diet in your family may be a very difficult project. However, with the help of the current health events and the information that you can get from the medical research and studies it becomes more possible to have a better understanding of the requirements of your family in general.

leprosy hand affected fourth digit 300x296 Hansen’s leprosy – the oldest disease

Hansen’s disease is considered to be the oldest disease to have affected man in accordance to the Guinness World records. Hansen’s disease or leprosy has seen many changes due to the believes of the people of the ancient world that this was a punishment given to them for something they had done in previous lives or that it was a curse from some demons.

Eventually, with the advancement in religious believes, people suffering from leprosy were considered the preferred ones sent to the world to help God on his mission of liberating mankind. Another reason for their seclusion was that they believed that leprosy was highly contagious.

After the developments of medical sciences, people started to understand the real reasons and causes of leprosy and also it became clear that it was not as contagious as other people believe it to be.

Leprosy is basically an infection caused by a mycobacterium that multiplies very slowly and which affects the skin, nerves and mucus membranes. This parasite does not reproduce by itself because it does not have the genes for survival on its own.

The causes and the method of reproduction of leprosy are unknown; however, it is known that humans are immune to leprosy and that this disease is chronic in nature. Some studies claim that the only way of transmission of the disease is through the respiratory track.
